- Your core responsibilities:_
SRAf only:

- Maintain the risk management system, strategy and governance framework (around risk management aspects) to keep it fit for purpose and in line with regulatory requirements.
- Monitor the Company's risk profile, risk exposures and related mitigation actions, as well as material changes to any of these aspects.
- Contribute to the Own Risk and Solvency Assessment ("ORSA") process. This includes producing and being involved both in the quantitative and qualitative aspects feeding into the process.
- Support the monitoring and reviewing, where necessary, of the target capitalisation of SRAf.
- Monitor and support maintaining the capital position for SRAf to remain within its target capitalisation.
- Assist in responding to requests from regulators and other external stakeholders (e.g. trade bodies) and coordinating regulatory meetings.

SRAf and MEA:

- Ensure, to the extent possible, that SRAf and the MEA region's business activities are in line with the risk strategy of the wider Group and the Reinsurance Business Unit.
- Support the business to identify and mitigate key risks, including reputational and regulatory risks. Provide independent challenge to Managing Executives on matters related to risk and deliver independent balanced accessible information and advice on high-level risk issues.
- Participate in the risk management review of business arrangements including solutions and transactions.
- Contribute to the Risk update reports (including details on the risk profile and risk exposures facing the company) presented to the SRAf Management Committee, SRAf Board and MEA Management Team.
- Evaluate the internal and external risk environment on an on-going basis in order to assist with identification and assessment of potential risks as early as possible.
- Co-ordinate with the Group's risk functions to ensure comprehensive coverage of risks and adequacy of internal control environment, and with other assurance functions to execute second line of defence assurance.
- Support Operational Risk Management activities by monitoring issues and events raised and the resolution of those.
- Nurture a culture of risk awareness among staff by questioning and engaging with them in their daily work.
- Where appropriate, represent Risk Management in strategic matters, major projects and investment decisions.
- Support the broader EMEA Risk Management Team with risk management related tasks focused on the risk and regulatory landscape.

**About you**:

- A university degree or equivalent in Actuarial Science or Risk Management;
- 1 - 2 years of professional-level work experience dealing with insurance, risk or regulatory topics;
- Strong interpersonal skills;
- Strong numerical skills;
- Ability to assimilate and summarize issues clearly and concisely, able to provide value-adding insights and analysis.
- A collaborative, engaging, positive standout colleague;
- Client-, service
- and solution-minded;
- Fluent in English, other European languages (in particular French) would be beneficial.
