**Purpose of the job**:

- To coordinate the industrial control of the Special Processes (SP) of Welding during tender phase, product development, industrialization, manufacturing, warranty and maintenance
- To support technology and activity transfers
- To guarantee the Industrial objectives in terms of Quality and Health and Safety.
- Ensure adherence to procedures and protocols as per ISO 3834-2 and EN 15085 CL1

In this respect the person in charge complies with Ethics and Compliance policies

**ACCOUNTABILITIES & AUTHORITIES
**Activities by step of the industrial process**
- To participate during the tender and the Concurrent Engineering phases integrating the Industrial constraints and rules in order to mitigate risks and optimize costs;
- To assist in the review of vendors welding documents to check compliance to project specification and relevant code requirements.
- Understands the quality requirements form a welding and quality control perspective.
- Ensure general weld quality and welding performance on the production-line are of the highest standard
- To co-ordinate the welding activities required in ISO 3834 and/or EN15085 according to the delegated tasks fixed by the Welding Engineer;
- To co-ordinate the training and the qualification of welders;
- To execute welding tests for the welding process qualification;
- To support the continuous improvement in the welding workshop proposing new tools/jigs and operating process;
- To support Sourcing, and SQA in order to choose and monitor the sub-suppliers involved in welding activities;
- To assure the qualification of the welding procedures applicable in production;
- To propose, in case of Non Conformity, anomaly, incident, a recovery solution;
- Ensure control procedures are adhered to.
- Identify suitable welding technology to improve productivity.
- To plan and support Welding audits on the workstations;
- Produce welding sequence instructions
- Understand drawings, identify, plan and schedule production weld samples for welders per area.
- Write and obtain approval for weld repair procedure.
- Ensure adherence to welding standards as specified by customer.
- Ensure accurate reporting on Key Performance Indicators.
- Visualize welding success rates on critical welds
- Benchmark with other sites and welding expert network

**EXPERIENCE PREREQUISITES & REQUIRED COMPETENCES**

**Educational Requirements**:_ Describe the minimum educational requirement/level_

**Mandatory**:

- Engineering diploma in process engineering, mechanical, metallurgical or similar.
- Technician with IWT/ EWT certificate or above.
- Prior experience in shop floor management

**Desirable**:

- Training and Qualification by a third party for Special Process - welding
- Knowledge of ISO 3834 Implementation and Maintaining certification
- Has been trained to Alstom Special Process standard training
- Is officially recognised as expert by the Special Process central coordinator.

- 5 years’ experience as welding coordinators or 8 years in welding technical activities
