Transport equipment company is looking for a Product Manager that specialises in hydraulics to promote and sell company products and to maintain profit margins on sales; look for business opportunities and maintain awareness of competitors’ activities, product offers and pricing at all times.

**Position details**:
Type: Permanent
Primary Purpose: The promoting and selling of company products. Customer and internal technical support. Inventory management. Maintaining profit margins on sales. Looking for business opportunities. Maintaining awareness of competitors’ activities, product offers and pricing at all times.

Job description / core competencies:
Responsible for the sale of company products.

Liaising with sales staff.

Building relationships with customers with the aim of acquiring future business.

Negotiating technical and pricing with suppliers.

Technical support to internal sales staff.

Hydraulic system design and product specification for customers.

Ensuring that optimum inventory levels are maintained to cover existing and new orders.

Assisting in planning and execution of organizational marketing strategy for relevant industries.

Ensuring that quotes are done timeously and accurately.

Providing customers with technical and product support.

Facilitating product training for customers where required.

Product warranty technical inspections and administration.

Sourcing new customers.

Assisting in planning and execution of the organizational marketing strategy for relevant industries.

Handling of customer complaints.

Performing admin functions relating to the position.

**Location**: Edenvale, Gauteng

**Job Qualifications, Skills & Experience**:
A minimum of a matric or related technical equivalent is required.

National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent will be an advantage.

Mechanical engineering trade will be an advantage.

Experience: Minimum of 2 years in hydraulic system design, specification and fault finding

A qualification in hydraulic system design will be an advantage.

Expertise with hands-on experience in a workshop environment will be an advantage.

Knowledge of the automotive component industry is an advantage.

Experience of the truck and trailer industry will be an advantage.

Proficient in Microsoft Office, with competency in Excel at intermediary level.

Ability to communicate well in English and Afrikaans.

Ability to communicate with all levels of stakeholders.

Experience in dealing with difficult customers and suppliers.

Experience in the fostering of customer and supplier relationships.

Experience in providing customer service on a technical level.

Good interpersonal skills, working with people of different cultures.

Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.

Capacity to function well as part of a team.

Pro-activeness.

Goal-orientation.

Problem solving and conflict handling skills.

Negotiation skills.
