IT Technician

We are looking for an IT Technician who will be responsible for providing technical support, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and assisting with the maintenance of the organization's IT infrastructure. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the smooth operation of technology systems and helping end-users with their IT-related needs.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Technical Support:

- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network-related problems.
- Assist in the setup and configuration of desktops, laptops, printers, and other peripherals.
- Hardware Maintenance:

- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on computer hardware.
- Install and upgrade hardware components as needed.
- Maintain an inventory of IT equipment and supplies.

Software Support:

- Assist with software installation, updates, and patches.
- Troubleshoot software issues and provide solutions.

Network Support:

- Assist with network connectivity issues.
- Configure and troubleshoot network devices (routers, switches, etc.).
- Assist in the implementation of security protocols and measures.
- Documentation:

- Maintain accurate records of IT assets, configurations, and support requests.
- Create and update documentation for IT procedures and user guides.

Security:

- Assist in maintaining data security and compliance with company policies.
- Participate in cybersecurity initiatives and awareness programs.
- Collaboration:

- Collaborate with other IT team members on larger projects and initiatives.
- Liaise with external vendors for technical support and procurement.

**Qualifications**:

- Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Previous experience in a similar IT support role is preferred.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of computer hardware components and peripherals.
- Basic understanding of networking principles.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional) are a plus.

**Job Type**: Permanent

**Salary**: R15 000,00 - R16 000,00 per month
