Extrusion Production Supervisor

Africa’s leading specialist in the manufacturing of premium knitted and woven mattress fabric based in Elsies River industrial is seeking to fill the role of an Extrusion Supervisor.

**Job Summary**

Coming from a strong manufacturing background you will be expected to streamline operational success by managing 14 personnel to ensure quality output in the Extrusion department.

**Job Requirements**:

**Qualifications and Experience**:

- National Diploma in Engineering or related field.
- Knowledge of process improvement, lean manufacturing, managing budget and production standards.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment of which a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Supervisory role.
- Experience in executing and managing projects.
- Polymer Extrusion process background is advantageous.
- Experience with electrical, mechanical and pneumatic equipment and systems.
- Experience using MRP Systems (Syspro is advantageous).
- Experience working with ISO standards and systems.
- Computer literacy (Microsoft office).
- The ability to lead a team successfully and employee relations experience.

**Duties and Responsibilities**, include but are not limited to the following:

- Control, coordinate, direct and develop all activities related to Extrusion department.
- Ensure to reach yield values within the framework of quality standards.
- Provide performance coaching/feedback and development planning for direct reports to enhance personal performance and company productivity.
- Ensuring the implementation of the process for measuring, reviewing and improving the results of the main activities within the department.
- Provide the creation, implementation and supervision of standard operating instructions.
- Take an active role in continuous improvement studies.
- Controlling Preventative Maintenance Program and executing plan.
- Execution of improvement projects and special assignments.
- Prepare KPI reports.
- Responsible for understanding strategic expectations and goals for the department.
- Manage the annual investment budget for the extrusion department and coordinate the provision of appropriate activities.
