Corporate Actions Analyst

Our client is a large asset management business which is part of a larger financial services group. They now require a corporate actions analyst to help support their investment process, assisting the Portfolio Managers to understand how corporate actions may impact their funds performance thus allowing the PM’s to model their portfolios accordingly. as such the role involves the following activities:
Reviewing proposed corporate actions to determine whether they comply with applicable state laws
Analyzing data related to the company’s financial position, including revenue trends, operating costs, and capital expenditures
Reviewing filings made with securities regulators to ensure compliance with applicable laws
Preparing reports summarizing company activities such as equity issuance or debt repayment activities
Providing oversight to ensure that corporate actions are accurately recorded in the company’s books and records
Determining whether proposed corporate actions are legally permissible based on statutory requirements and the company’s charter documents
Coordinating communications with shareholders regarding corporate actions such as dividends and stock splits
Preparing reports to shareholders detailing corporate actions such as dividends and stock splits
Reviewing reports from external auditors to ensure that they are accurate and complete
Job Requirements
A corporate actions analyst will need the following qualifications:
**Education**: bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or a related field. Relevant coursework includes corporate finance, financial accounting, financial statement analysis, financial markets and investments, financial management and investments, and portfolio management.

**Financial analysis**: Financial analysis is the ability to interpret financial data and make predictions based on the data. As a corporate actions analyst, you may be required to analyze financial data to determine the impact of a company’s actions. For example, if a company is considering a merger, you may be asked to analyze the financial data of both companies to determine the impact of the merger on the company’s financial status.
**Data analysis**: Data analysis is the ability to interpret large amounts of information and draw conclusions from it. As a corporate actions analyst, you may be required to analyze large amounts of data to determine the impact of a company’s actions on the environment. Data analysis requires the ability to read and interpret large amounts of information, as well as the ability to draw conclusions from the data.
**Communication**: Communication is the act of conveying information from one person to another. As an analyst, you may be required to communicate with clients, managers and other employees. This requires you to be able to convey information in a way that others can understand. Effective communication can help you to convey information clearly and to build relationships with others.
**Problem-solving**: Problem-solving skills allow you to identify and address issues in a timely manner. As a corporate actions analyst, you may be responsible for finding solutions to problems that arise during the course of a project. For example, if a company’s stock price drops unexpectedly, you may be tasked with finding the cause.
**Critical thinking**: Critical thinking is the ability to analyze a situation and determine the best course of action. As a corporate actions analyst, you may be required to make recommendations to the company’s leadership team about how to proceed in response to a situation. This may include analyzing the situation, determining the potential outcomes of different actions and suggesting the best course of action.
