**LAB SAMPLER**

**LICHTENBURG
**Epko Oil Seed Crushing (Pty) Ltd is a progressive company involved in the procurement and**
**processing of oilseeds, the sales of vegetable oil and related products. The plant, with a**
**capacity of processing 220k/MT sunflower seeds and processes which equates to 25% of the**
**total sunflower seed harvest in South Africa, is situated in Lichtenburg.
**PURPOSE OF POSITION**:

- To perform plant sampling on raw material, in-process and final products as per defined sampling map.
- **SUMMARY OF POSITION**:

- Ensure that representative samples are taken to the lab in time as per the set sampling plan.

**- **Perform all sampling task diligently.
- **- **Recognizing the importance of providing proper samples to the lab at all times.
- **- **Assisting the Lab Analyst with general housekeeping of the laboratory.
- **- **Assisting with sample preparation for analysis e.g. grinding of samples for NIR analyst.
- **- **Keeping work benches clean at all times.
- **- **Notifying the Lab Manager timeously regarding any equipment failure or dangers associated with sampling
- points.
- **QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE**:

- Grade 12 with maths (Position requires basic math calculations).

**- **Computer Literate.
- **- **Working experience in the soya or sunflower crush plant and edible oil extraction plant.
- **- **Good understanding of key laboratory equipment and how it functions e.g. Karl Fisher Machine, NIR,
- Protein Analyser, Oil Analyser and Gas Chromatograph.
