The purpose of the Payroll specialist is ensuring that the monthly payrun is processed on time, accurately and in compliance with statutory regulations who can run the payroll function across multiple companies (approx. 400 employees, 3 companies in South Africa and oversee 3rd party processing payroll in Tanzania and Kenya).

**The Role**

**In this exciting and varied role, you will**:

- Administering, processing, capturing, and checking monthly payrolls
- Integrate with the finance team where required for monthly and ad-hoc reporting purposes
- Liaison with management and staff regarding pay queries
- Payment and reconciliation of overtime, travel, and other allowances
- Assistance with SARS eFiling, UIF, EMP201 & EMP501 returns
- Maintaining the structure and integrity of the payroll system
- Ensure maintenance of staff records including archiving and filing
- Oversee and check 3rd party payroll in Tanzania and Kenya

**The Person**

**To succeed in this role you will**:

- Matric (essential)
- A payroll diploma / degree or certified qualification (preferred)
- A national diploma in Human Resources Management or in Accounting / Finance or related field, would be advantageous.
- Certification in Payroll (e.g.Certified Payroll Professional, CPP)
- Experience with payroll processing
- Basic Knowledge of labour laws and regulations
- Proven experience as a payroll administrator or in a similar role
- Proficiency with payroll software and MS Office, particularly Excel
- Proficiency with Sage Payroll Professional (Premier)
- Strong understanding of payroll procedures, tax regulations, and compliance requirements
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
- High integrity and sensitivity to confidential information
