FINANCE Senior Professional Officer

**Requirements**:

- Relevant 4 year Law Degree or equivalent
- Computer Literacy(MS Office /Ms Word/SAP)
- Minimum of at least 5 years work experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills (essential)
- Good analytical skills, problem solving and analysis, organisation

awareness,
- Ability to conceptualise policy requirements
- within the Finance

Directorate
- Understanding of the policy and legal environment of the

Valuations Department

Key Performance Areas

Property Rates Act

stakeholders regarding the implementation of Local Government:
Municipal Property Rates Act and the Rates Policy
- To prepare for and assist the Valuers at Valuation Appeal Board

hearings
- To assist in advising and monitoring of issues arising out of the

property Rates Act and Protection of Personal Information Act
- To assist in the co-ordination of input into the annual review of the

Rates Policy
- To advise on the completion of legal notices, advertisements and

**formal correspondence requires by the Local Government**:
Municipal Property Rates Act issued by the Valuations Department
- Assisting with the drafting of SOP’S
- Assisting with the drafting of memorandum where legal assistance is

required including the briefing of attorneys and counsel in those

matters
- Providing Legal guidance and assistance in minimizing risk to the

Department
- To advise on the implementation of and to minor compliance with

legislation and policies that affects the Valuation
