QC assistant. This person will be based in Vulcania, Brakpan:
The Quality Control Assistant is responsible for supporting the quality control process in a factory and laboratory setting. This role involves performing various lab tests, recording and analysing data, maintaining equipment and lab supplies, and ensuring compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and quality standards.

**Responsibilities**:

- Perform lab tests as per established SOPs and protocols.
- Record and analyse test results accurately and precisely and prepare reports for review by management.
- Maintain and calibrate lab equipment and instruments, troubleshoot technical issues, and report any discrepancies or malfunctions.
- Follow established SOPs for sample preparation, testing, and data recording to ensure consistency and accuracy in results.
- Assist in the development and validation of new lab methods and procedures and participate in ongoing process improvement initiatives.
- Monitor and maintain inventory of lab supplies, chemicals, and reagents, and place orders as needed to ensure uninterrupted lab operations.
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized lab environment, including proper disposal of hazardous materials and waste.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production and sales to resolve quality-related issues and implement corrective actions.
- Participate in training programs to enhance technical skills and stay updated with industry trends and regulatory requirements.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures, including confidentiality of lab data and compliance with all applicable regulatory guidelines.

**Qualifications/Experience**:

- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
- Previous experience working in a laboratory setting, preferably in quality control or a related field.
- Strong understanding of lab testing techniques, equipment, and instruments.
- Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and guidelines.
- Proficient in using computer software for data entry, analysis, and reporting.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time efficiently, and meet deadlines.
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects, stand for extended periods, and work with hazardous materials safely.
