Lodge Head Guide

A Head Field Guide / Ranger provide a core service to the lodge.

This position is fully responsible for conduction a guided safaris experience that is unique, personalised, professional and enjoyable, while at the same time leading and motivation a safari team.

They must be enthusiastic, energetic and physically fit. These competencies include the following requirements:

- Sense of adventure
- High energy levels & drive to get things done
- Planning & organizing - plan activities and carry them through effectively
- Minimum 5 years guiding experience in a Big 5 reserve with in a similar lodge environment
- 4 years Previous head ranger or assistant head ranger experience
- FGASA Level 2 /3 qualification
- Full Trails Guide qualification
- Valid PDP
- Valid Code 08 Drivers’ License
- DEAT registered
- First Aid level 1/2/3
- 3 Unit Standards
- Rifle Competency
- Advanced Rifle Handling (ARH)

Salary R 200 000 per annum plus accommodation and benefits

- Big 5 Reserve: 5 years (preferred)
- FGASA 2 / NQF 4: 4 years (preferred)
- Full Trails Guide: 3 years (preferred)
- Guest/ Relations & Communication: 5 years (preferred)
