**Main purpose of the job**:

- To provide strategic development, oversight, program coordination, and overall management of the provincial and district-level implementation of the School-based HIV & GBV program in order to ensure the delivery of outputs

**Location**:

- **Tzaneen, Limpopo**

**Key performance areas**:

- Lead, coordinate and support the implementation of the School-based HIV & GBV prevention program at the province, districts, sub-districts, facilities, and community levels
- Coordinating the development of District Implementation plans and other strategic program documents for effective implementation of the project
- Responsible to ensure district teams are effectively implementing program activities to ensure required outputs are delivered in line with the project work plan
- Provide program implementation guidance and support to district leads and team members to ensure delivery of program activities according to timelines, targets, and budgets
- Implement appropriate program management processes to ensure delivery of Project components with a specific focus on aspects of sustainability
- Identify the needs of the program at a district level and facilitate the availability of resources required
- Develop program tools such as SOPs and technical guidelines where necessary
- Support and monitor staff scale-up related to demand creation, linkage to care, and other services including support for sub-contractors where applicable
- Support administrative processes related to recruitment, staff management, and retention of district personnel
- Lead or coordinate the implementation of additional projects or requests for information emanating from program donors or other stakeholders such as government departments and civil society
- Liaising with DBE and DOH to ensure smooth coordination of the Integrated School Health program (ISHP) activities at the provincial, district and schools level
- Ensure coordination across program streams: ISHP, PrEP/SRH, Community Services, and Linkage to care
- Support activities that promote and advocate for Adolescent and Youth-friendly services (AYFS) or youth zones at service points
- Support the reporting process to Wits RHI management, the donor, DOH, and other stakeholders
- Develop and effectively manage relationships with external stakeholders including DBE, DOH, DSD, donors, Civil Society sector, and partners
- Serve as a provincial representative and point of contact for the Schools project/DREAMS on external forums/working groups in Limpopo
- Coordinate program activities with external agencies such as public health, NGO partners, regulatory bodies, donor monitoring, and auditing agencies, and others as necessary
- Coach and train subordinates and team members to ensure the acquisition of knowledge and skills required by the organization

**Required minimum education and training**:

- Postgraduate degree or equivalent in Development Studies, Social Science, Public Health, Education, Management, or related fields
- At least 6-10 Years of experience working in Health, HIV/AIDS, and youth programs at the senior level
- Understanding of CSE, the comprehensive SRH services including HIV and PrEP, Child protection, GBV and AYFS
- Knowledge of ISHP & DBE Policy on HTS, STI & TB, and DOH guidelines and policies
- Understanding of mobile health service model and monitoring PrEP implementation
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English, including report writing and presentation skills

**Required minimum work experience**:

- **Experience in working with SAG departments (including DBE, DOH, and DSD) and other departments**:

- **Experience with PEPFAR-funded projects will be an added advantage**:

- **Demonstrated role in strengthening coordination and facilitating project implementation**:

- **Understanding of the school health provision, experience in working with government departments as a Technical Assistant or advisory capacity, and working in the DREAMS program**:

- **Stakeholder engagement and management**

- The environment may at times be busy, and noisy, and need excellent organizational, time, and stress management skills to complete the required tasks
- Must be a South African national or permanent resident with fluency in English and in at least one local indigenous South African language
- Must have a valid South African driver’s license and be willing to travel
