As we evolve, it has become increasingly important that our contact centre operations are scalable and is ready to meet the ever-increasing and agile demands of enabling our partner networks, as well as our youth network of just over 4,5 million work-seekers.

The
**_Head: Finance and Funder Management_** will report directly to the
**Chief Financial Officer**, be responsible for ensuring that all the organizations funding and finances (across the private and public sectors) are properly managed and accounted for, in accordance with funder and statutory requirements, as well as international financial reporting standards.

**_ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES_**

- Lead a dynamic and high-performing finance team to enable and support the achievement of the company’s strategy, goals, and vision.
- Promote and strengthen the organization’s values-based culture.
- Lead the annual and half year budget preparation and review processes.
- Manage the cashflows of the organisation.
- Work in collaboration with the statutory finance team to ensure accurate financial records are maintained in accordance with IFRS and specific requirements that funders may require.
- Provide oversight of funder reporting and compliance.
- Maintain line of sight of grant agreements, grant amounts and timelines.
- Lead the finance and governance elements when working with partners and/or others in the youth development landscape.
- Assist with procurement processes, as required.
- Ensure that financial and fraud risks are identified and effectively managed through the implementation and monitoring of appropriate accounting procedures, sound internal controls and good governance structures.
- Ensure that the organisation’s finances are managed and accounted for in an effective and transparent manner.
- Review the effectiveness of the accounting and reporting systems on an ongoing basis, to identify areas for enhancement or improvement.
- Provide organisational staff with efficient and effective support/assistance from the finance department.
- Assist with finance staff training and development to ensure that the team has up-to-date awareness and knowledge of best practice and financial matters.
- Manage the day-to-day finance team requirements which includes, but is not limited to, managing all team deadlines, delegating as and where necessary, managing work allocation, as well as, approving any staff leave.
- Monitor monthly actual expenditure against funder budgets and activities, identifying variances and ensuring that the necessary follow-up action is taken.
- Ensure that all statutory/legislative requirements are complied with.
- Prepare short, medium, and long-term financial forecasts.
- Manage work related to unit cost metrics/economics.
- Prepare timeous and accurate financial reports for submission to the Chief Financial Officer, Board, Audit & Risk Committee, executive management team and funders.
- Manage the existing relationship with the organisation’s internal and external auditors.
- Undertake audit preparations to ensure an efficient, effective, and successful statutory, funder and/or project audit process.
- Ensure that audit findings are timeously resolved, prior to the commencement of the next audit.
- Identify opportunities to optimise return on investment and/or areas for potential cost savings.
- Provide support for the internal audit function, as required.

**_ROLE REQUIREMENTS_**

**_Minimum requirements_**
- Be a Chartered Accountant or equivalent (CA(SA)/ACCA/CIMA) with more than 8 years post articles, across industry experience.
- Proficiency on Pastel Evolution and SAGE 300 People software.
- Experience in the not-for-profit and/or social sector, managing a diverse portfolio of funders would be advantageous.
