Head of Quality and Compliance

**Responsibilities**:

- Develop, implement, and maintain food safety and quality management systems, including HACCP and FSSC22000, to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Conduct regular audits, inspections, and internal assessments to identify potential food safety risks, ensure adherence to procedures, and implement corrective actions when necessary.
- Provide technical expertise and support for the development and improvement of chicken liver products, including recipe formulation, processing techniques, and quality control measures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality assurance, and research and development, to drive continuous improvement in product quality and safety.
- Conduct product testing, sensory evaluation, and shelf-life studies to monitor product stability and ensure compliance with specifications.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and advancements in food safety and technology, and proactively implement necessary changes to ensure compliance.
- Train and educate staff members on food safety protocols, good manufacturing practices, and quality control procedures.
- Manage relationships with suppliers, external laboratories, and certification bodies to ensure adherence to quality and safety standards.
- Assist in the development and execution of new product development initiatives, including process optimization and scale-up

**Qualifications and Skills**:

- Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience working in the food industry, preferably with expertise in chicken liver products.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of food safety principles and regulations, including HACCP and FSSC22000.
- Familiarity with food processing techniques, quality control methodologies, and sensory evaluation.
- Experience in conducting risk assessments, root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and build relationships with cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of relevant software and tools for data analysis and documentation.

**Certifications**:

- Additional certifications related to food safety and quality management systems (e.g., Certified HACCP Auditor, Lead Auditor for FSSC22000) would be an advantage.

**Salary**: R32,000.00 - R40,000.00 per month
