- We are currently recruiting for a PMO Specialist for our Edam Avenue offices and the main purpose of this role is to provide project management support to the PRO Office, with a 1-2-year planning horizon.

**Job Description**:

- Duties of this role include (but are not limited to):
**Project Selection**
- Identify Stay-In-Business (SIB) project opportunities.
- Obtain SIB project opportunities from clients including comprehensive End-User Requirements.
- Update Opportunity Register and submit to Capital Master

**Initiating**
- Set up and initiate project according to the Anglo American SIB Project Management Guideline and Investment Development Method (IDM)
- Assist the client with the development of the Business Case
- Obtain SIB Capital vote approval
- Select the Project Development Method according to segmentation
- Identify and appoint the project team members
- Identify project stakeholders

**Planning**
- Obtain inputs from relevant disciplines and develop the Project Management Plan with all its appendices (According to the Anglo American SIB Project Management Guideline and IDM)
- Collect requirements and develop the project scope of work
- Oversee the development of the Work Breakdown Structure
- Oversee the development of the cost budget estimate (CBE)
- Arrange for and attend risk assessments and HAZOPs
- Contribute to quantitative risk assessments
- Assist with design concepts for all disciplines
- Determine the procurement strategy
- Develop the Procurement Operating Plan (POP)
- Incorporate previous projects’ lessons learned. Communication to Corporate and Functional Centres in the case of injuries, incidents, HPI (high potential incidents) and fatalities within the defined timeframes

**Executing, Monitoring & Control**
- Conduct tender evaluation and adjudications
- Assist with contractor appointments
- Conduct the project kick-off meeting
- Control the project scope
- Manage scope changes
- Control project quality
- Oversee schedule control
- Oversee cost control
- Monitor and control risks
- Manage Human Capital
- Manage contracts (NEC, AP42 etc.)
- Document lessons learned
- Oversee engineering QA/QC for fabrication and construction
- Manage the development of Human Capital
- Conduct feedback meetings with the client
- Ensure operational readiness

**Handover and Close-out**
- Arrange and conduct the handover meeting with the client
- Confirm Technical Close-Out of the project
- Confirm Contractual Close-Out of the project
- Document and communicate lessons learned
- Issue the Final Hand-Over Certificate
- Develop and submit the Project Close-Out Report for Close-Out approval at Head Office
- Monitor Final Closure of the project on SAP
- Assist in the handover of the As-Built drawings, data books, operating manuals and other documents to the client.
- Develop a Post Investment Report to be completed by the client if required (Business improvement projects only)
- Oversee the filing and archiving of all project documentation in the Project File

**Safety, Health & Environment**
- Ensure that site teams conduct Risk Assessments for construction activities.
- Ensure adherence to site specific Safety, Health Environment (SHE) Requirements.
- Ensure that site resources assist with conducting Safety Meetings with the Safety Officers to ensure compliance

**Governance**
- Manage project delivery according to SIB Project Management Office policies, procedures and systems
- Manage project audits with regards to policies, procedures and systems
- Ensure that the project is compliant within the legal framework established in Anglo Platinum
- Ensure compliance in terms of SIB Framework regarding contractual issues
- Manage customer and client relationship (external, internal and cross discipline interfaces)

Report on own Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

**This role is at a Band 6/11 level and reports into the Project Manager.**
- Qualifications
- Relevant Degree/Diploma/BTech in Engineering/Technical/Construction discipline or equivalent
- Project Management PMI accredited qualification

**Experience required**:

- At least 3 years’ experience in the Project Management Office environment
- Experience in a Smelting environment is essential
- Experience with regards to large furnace rebuilds and associated furnace projects is essential
- Extensive Project Management experience is essential
- Very Strong excel and data analytics experience

**Knowledge and Skills**:

- Advanced computer skills
- Good communications skill
