MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Matric certificate/ equivalent

At least 5 years shaft equipping/ sinking experience

Winding Engine Driver Certificate of Competency

Onsetter/ Banksman Certificate of Competency

Medical Fitness Certificate

Winding Engine Driver’s association

EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

At least 5 years’ experience in a Sinking/ Equipping shaft

Legal requirements as per mine Health and Safety Act

Hoist driving skills for single and double drum winders

Knowledge of environmental, health and safety standards

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Compliance to the Mine Health and Safety Act

Operating the kibble winder

Operating the Sinking stage winder

Ensure that the winder logbook is completed as legislated

Report immediately any unsafe condition
