Au Pair/tutor

**AU PAIR/TUTOR VACANCY**

We are looking for a dynamic Au Pair to look after two children ages 6 and 4.

**Duties**

1. Plan and conduct an effective children development program to meet the physical, social, emotional and intellectual needs of each child.

2. Ensure that children care routines are carried out in a manner that is prompt, hygienic, and consistent with the good children development principles. This includes routines related to hand washing, eating, napping and transitioning between activities.

3. Ensure the safety of children through constant supervision, effective arrangement of space, proper maintenance of equipment, and regular practice of fire drills and other emergency procedures.

4. Create an open, friendly, and cooperative atmosphere in which the children and family feel comfortable and secure in a Christian household.

5. Provide experiences that promote individual expression through conversation, play and creativity.

6. Provide a variety of language stimulation activities.

7. Ensure that parents receive adequate information about their children's experiences during the course of the day/week through a communication book and regularly scheduled parent meetings.

8. Maintain written records designed to evaluate the children’s development.

9. Promote and nurture parent-children bonding and relationships.

10. Initiate activities daily (sing-a-longs, art projects, sensory exploration, outdoor stimulation).

11. Observe children to detect signs of illness, injury, abuse, neglect, emotional disturbance, or other special needs, and report these signs immediately to the parent(s)

12. Use equipment and supplies safely and conscientiously, keeping physical environment clean and orderly.

13. Maintain confidentiality of children and family information at all times.

14. Inspect the home site and equipment for potential safety hazards; taking corrective action or informing the parent(s) to prevent injuries.

15. Contribute to the sharing of information gained through attendance at workshops and professional reading.

16. Supervise homework and take the children to their extra mural activities as required.

17. Proactive communication with parents.

**Requirements**:

- Must have experience as an Au Pair;
- Must have a teaching qualification;
- Must have a valid drivers (code 8) licence with no endorsements;
- Some experience with special needs children would be advantageous;
- Must be able to work extended hours and travel with the family as and when required.

Pay: R13 000,00 per month
