**POSITION: Social Media Intern - DURBANVILLE**

**PERIOD: 6 Months**

**REPORTS TO: Direct of Operations**

**Objective**

Under the direction of the **Director of Operations** and within the limits of our clients policies and procedures, the **Social Media Intern** will form part of the **Digital Department**

The enthusiastic Social Media Intern will form part of our Digital Department and provide creative ideas alongside a variety of administrative duties geared towards assisting both the company and the individual to reach their goals.

As a Social Media Intern, you will collaborate with our current digital team in all stages of the process from conceptualisation to implementation. Your insightful contribution will help develop, expand and maintain our marketing channels.

This internship will help you acquire real world skills and provide you with knowledge of various strategies and implementations. Ultimately, you will gain broad experience in the social media realm and should be prepared to enter any fast paced work environment.

**Main Responsibilities**
- Monitor a variety of social media accounts and ensure that all content is correctly and timeously posted
- Brainstorm campaign ideas with the team
- Analysis of analytics to gauge the success of campaigns
- Research and understand the overall brand strategies of a variety of clients with specific focus on the hospitality industry
- Research and present the latest trends within the social media and broader digital marketing framework and how these can be implemented effectively within the hospitality sector.
- Provide suggestions to management for improving customer experience on social platforms and internal processes.
- Learn and become proficient on internal software systems.
- Assists in creating performance reports.
- Do content research for specific campaigns
- Assist in the development of content for posting plans and campaigns
- Researching audience preferences and discover current trends
- Creating engaging text, image and video content
- Measure web traffic and monitor SEO
- Suggest new ways to attract prospective customers, like promotions and competitions
- Compile monthly reports and provide insights on community engagement and growth

**Requirements**:

- Either have completed or be in the process of completing a relevant degree with focus on Social Media or Digital Marketing.

**Miscellaneous**
- Creating a positive relationship with colleagues: They are part of the internal approach NOT to work in silos but one company bringing the departments as one. Therefore, their interaction with Management and Employees are an example and needs to be a positive influence.
- Maintain a professional and positive attitude in all dealings with clients either on the phone or in person.
- Complying with all vaccination requirements that may be applicable to the destination. Please note, the Company may request for you to pay any excess towards travel such as Travel insurance due to the employee not being vaccinated.
