**Role Purpose**

To be the operational lead of all centralised business functions. To define and manage the following functions:

- Financial strategy, planning and delivery to ensure financial sustainability and growth.
- Risk and compliance standards that are set and delivered against.
- Assets and funding strategy and enable the financing of service delivery projects.
- Corporate governance standards and requirements are met.
- HR function and delivery of the required HR reporting
- Oversight of the Fundraising Function
- IT and Operations to ensure effective and efficient work environment

**Activities**

**Organisation Strategy Leadership**
- To contribute to the annual organisational strategy by participating in strategy workshops and presenting insights and feedback annually
- To develop the Operational Plan for the centralised business functions in line with organisational strategy and targets by evaluating, gathering inputs, developing, planning and submitting for review, amendment and approval by the deadline.
- To track and manage delivery against plan and targets by recording delivery, tracking performance, identifying and resolving challenges, identifying opportunities and solutions and implementing as agreed and at all times.

**Centralised Business Functions Management**
- To manage core business functions by setting priorities in line with the strategy, managing delivery against these priorities and reporting as required and defined. This includes HR, IT and Operations and close liaison with Fundraising to ensure cash flow
- and forecast projections are accurate and available.
- To manage the resolution of core business functions’ issues by monitoring performance, analysing trends and patterns, engaging with teams and stakeholders to resolve matters, developing solutions and managing implementation monthly and as required.
- To manage delivery against quality and timeline standards and expectations by defining standards, tracking delivery, resolving challenges and allocating required resources as required.
- To upskill the team by identifying training needs and upskilling as required.
- To identify and implement opportunities for improving core business functions' productivity and/or efficiency by evaluating trends, identifying opportunities, developing recommendations, and implementing interventions as required.
- To manage core business policies and procedures by drafting, documenting, reviewing, updating and submitting for approval at least once a year.
- To manage relevant internal stakeholder relationships and contribute to overall organisation delivery by managing that teams engage, understand customer needs, solve challenges and queries, manage expectations, and always build mutually beneficial and respectful relationships.

**Financial Management**
- To define and manage the MES financial strategy, planning and delivery to ensure financial sustainability and growth and provide oversight and support for the Financial Manager & Finance team.
- To develop the annual budget by collating inputs from all branches and business units, engaging and providing support to amend and adjust budget inputs, providing insights based on lessons learnt, historical trends and good practice and finalising within deadlines.
- To manage organisational financial sustainability by managing delivery against budget, implementing cost-saving and efficiency improvement activities and achieving monthly, quarterly and annual financial targets.
- To quality control all financial transactions by reviewing transactional capturing and allocation and addressing discrepancies monthly in liaison with the Finance Manager.
- To ensure financial processing is completed in line with statutory compliance requirements by sampling processed transactions, reviewing audit reports and implementing required recommendations monthly.
- To manage that the delegations of authority are implemented appropriately by reviewing transactions processed and verifying authorisations monthly.
- To manage the annual audit process by managing the collation of required documents, managing the provision of feedback and insight to auditors and receiving audit reports by the deadline with the finance manager.
- To address audit findings by reviewing the audit management report, developing a plan to address audit findings, implementing and resolving within the deadlines.
