**_ Position Purpose:_**

Develops and implements strategies to improve the efficiency of all purchasing transactions from order to payment, while

reducing total cost and maintaining quality and vendor service levels.

**_ Position outputs:_**

Strategic Management at the Region:

- Consolidate demand of all the regional business units and develop and standardised purchasing and contracting

approach for the region;
- Manage the Region’s budget and SCM spend;
- Manage warehouses and stores sparsed out within the Region;
- Ensure effective integration between the Region’s sourcing function, Head Office and Group’s strategic sourcing through

participation in the Sourcing Centre of Excellence;
- Compile SCM procurement plans and formulate strategy and tactics to ensure successful implementation;
- Identify potential bottlenecks in service delivery formulate plans to manage potential and actual crises;
- Identify and manage identified risks, as well as monitoring of business-critical controls to ensure operational effectiveness.

Service delivery management in SCM:

- Manages the processing of all purchase orders to ensure that orders are processed in a timely, accurate manner;
- Ensures that the level of service is maintained by developing metrics on the number of PO’s handled daily, the accurate of

the PO’s and the time to order, delivery and payment.
- Oversight of strategic sourcing function:

- Implement standards and procedures for the overall Strategic Sourcing programme and Contract Management pertaining to

strategic commodities (as contemplated in the SS COE and ratified by the Group iSCM Council);
- Plan on strategies to deliver savings by consolidating commodity spend in the region and track attainment of these savings;
- Manage all SCM and related process for core business commodity purchasing;
- Implement and monitor compliance on P2P (Purchase to Pay) Controls Framework;
- Drive consistent supplier relationship management (SRM) strategies, processes and systems across the Region, including

monitoring, reviewing and reporting on SLA’s;- Advocate supplier development initiatives as part of sourcing, in close collaboration with the Supplier Development function;
Manage SCM function and strategic initiatives:

- Provide high-level operational support to commodity teams; this includes providing functional leadership and management,

lobbying senior executive support and buy-in for relevant strategic sourcing initiatives;
- Monitors functional area adherence to legislation, company policies and procedures, safety, health and environment goals

and objectives;
- Monitor the consolidated achievement of strategic and tactical objectives, formulate and implement plans for corrective

action, if required;
- Report on the overall performance of the Region’s strategic sourcing KPI’s and progress against achievement of strategic

and tactical targets on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis, in line with Regional dashboard reporting;
- Contribute to increase of reverse logistics sales to ensure that TPT’s revenue is increased;
- Manage the reduction of inventory holding to ensure terminal effectiveness and profitability;
- Ensure an adequate level of stock in TPT’s stores in order to contribute to efficient operations of terminals;
- Manage logistics to ensure that the appropriate and adequate levels of spare parts structured correctly to meet the needs of

operations.
- Provide contract management support:

- Convert regular buying to contracts and reducing acquisition and processing costs;
- Provide operational support to iSCM in drafting and amending strategic contracts;
- Identifying commercial risk factors at the time of contracting / contract amendment and provide required escape clauses,

checking the financial risk in terms of the pricing and terms
