The Automation Superintendent works with the Business Units and GSS to lead the design, development and implementation of automation solutions including but not limited to native ERP automation, Robotic Process Automation (RPA), Artificial Intelligent (AI), and Mobile and Business Process Management (BPM) to drive greater efficiency and quality in the respective processes.

**Job Description**:

- The Automation Superintendent, plays a key role in defining the engagement approach, managing business relationships and is accountable for the execution of automation initiatives, including conducting research and analysis, generating ideas, working alongside the Business Improvement teams and end users and building solutions.

**The primary accountabilities will incorporate**:

- Managing and developing a global team of Automation Analysts and Specialists located in South Africa and Brazil.
- Participating in information gathering interviews, brainstorming sessions and workshops with key stakeholders to document current and future state business process and identify appropriate automation use cases and opportunities
- Overseeing design, development, testing and deployment, working with IM and other appropriate stakeholders to successfully implement and demonstrably improve the process.
- Building high quality automation solutions that are intuitive, simple to maintain and drive business outcomes.
- Report and track success metrics on a regular cadence.
- Ensuring appropriate risk management practices are designed and implemented in automation lifecycle
- Design and Implementation of effective preventative and detective controls in the automation lifecycle
- Builds automation solutions to facilitate integration globally.
- Champions the adoption of automation tools within the Operational teams
- Assists internal and external stakeholders with the embedding and management of change in partnership with the Digital Operations Manager, manages key relationships with partners to build a strong foundation based on reliable delivery and trust.
- Ensures successful transition of solutions to the business for on-going maintenance, operational management and continued improvement
- Acts as a key partner and conduit between business and IM

**This role is at a band 6 level reporting into the Process Excellence and Automation Lead.**
- Qualifications
- Educated to Degree level business/commerce, data sciences, engineering, or computer science

**Knowledge and Skills**
- 5 years of experience in process design, programming, analytics, finance and/or consulting.
- Experience in programming concepts, particularly in the fields of Robotic Process Automation, Microsoft Power Apps and Power Automation and Python
- Experience with Robotics tools is an asset, e.g. WorkFusion, Automation Anywhere, Blue Prism
- Possess knowledge of design and analysis methodologies to work in an agile development environment
- Experience working and contributing to project blueprint, building schedules, managing issues/risks, establishing communication plans and stakeholder management
- Expert level knowledge in business process design, diagnostic work, organizational design, change management, and project/program management
- Passionate about leveraging emerging technology to simplify processes
- Able to work highly independently and manage multiple priorities
- Possesses solid leadership skills and can work successfully with a team that has diverse skills, knowledge, and educational backgrounds.
- Ability to break down complex data and adapt explanations for the right target audience.
- Demonstrates fully operational knowledge and significant experience in process design and optimization applies in complex and non-routine contexts and shapes and contributes to strategy and development while proactively staying up-to-date with best practice and innovation
