Fitter and Turner

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Machinist to join our team. As a Machinist, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining various machine tools to produce precision parts according to specifications. Your expertise in machining techniques and equipment operation will contribute to the efficient production of high-quality products.

**Responsibilities**:

- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to understand the required machining operations.
- Set up and operate a variety of machine tools, such as lathes, milling machines, grinders, and drill presses, to perform precision machining tasks.
- Select appropriate cutting tools, speeds, and feeds for each machining operation.
- Use precision measurement instruments, such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges, to ensure accuracy and adherence to specifications.
- Monitor machine operations and make adjustments as necessary to maintain quality and efficiency.
- Perform routine maintenance on machines to ensure proper functioning and prevent breakdowns.
- Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and other team members to optimize machining processes and improve productivity.
- Adhere to safety guidelines and maintain a clean and organized work environment.

**Requirements**:

- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certification in machining is preferred.
- Proven experience as a Machinist, with a strong understanding of machining principles and techniques.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints.
- Knowledge of different types of machine tools and their operation.
- Ability to select and use appropriate cutting tools and measuring instruments.
- Familiarity with precision measurement techniques and instruments.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and the ability to adhere to them at all times.

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Rustenburg, North West: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:
