**PURPOSE OF ROLE**

The CFO will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the company’s financial activities which includes accounting and financial activities to measure and monitor project financial performance. Prepares financial reports and budgets for the executive to support the financial decision-making process. The CFO will serve in a strategic advisory role to the CEO and the executive management team.

**KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS**
- Responsibility for the full financial function and record keeping, reporting of financial information to relevant stakeholders for the group of companies
- Improvement of financial controls and procedures and well as enforcement of the controls and procedures
- Management of the finance team
- Financial budgets and forecasts
- Cash flow management and investment of company funds
- Oversees the creation and maintenance of project accounts, reviews project status reports and supports project leaders to address changes in project scope or timeline and resolve any financial issues that might impede project timelines.
- Tracks and analyses consolidated financial results for all projects.
- Legal and statutory compliance (SARS, annual audits, etc.)
- Present information for strategic decision making
- Ensuring the effective management and running of the company ERP system
- Assist with business development and tender opportunities, reviewing pricing and analysis of opportunities (also possible acquisitions)
- Serves as the Executive member of the organisation and collectively accounts for the performance of the organisation
- Represents the organisation externally in all financial aspects as per the executive mandate and organisational strategy
- Maintain financial stakeholder relations (Banks, Bonds etc)

**QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE**
- CA (SA) or similar qualification
- At least 5-10 years post articles experience preferable in the energy sector, supported by at least 3 years demonstrable experience in a similar role with proven decisive leadership qualities.

**COMPETENCIES**

**Skills**:

- Intermediate to advanced level experience of excel spreadsheets and formulas
- Cash flow management and investment strategy
- Advanced computer literacy

**Knowledge**:

- Knowledge and understanding of sound financial management practices including planning, budgeting, monitoring, and control of corporate performance reporting
- Demonstrate proven knowledge of IFRS
- Working knowledge and experience in all relevant legislative requirements as it relates to the role
- Basic understanding of the commercial and financial requirements for a tender submission
- Knowledge and understanding of ERP systems (e.g., IFS, SAP, etc.)
