KONE has several strategic positions to support their Global and Local “Sustainable Winning with Customers” strategy and the Installation Supervisor role in the Cape Town Region is one of these positions. This position will support KONE South Africa in achieving their Strategic Targets and Ways to Win in the strategy while further driving operational excellence in installation/project management in both new and modernization projects.

Reporting directly to the Installation Manager, we are looking for an energetic and enthusiastic Installation Supervisor to be based in our Cape Town office. In this role, you will assist in planning, organizing, and directing the completion of specific projects for KONE while ensuring these projects are on time, on budget, and within scope.

An Installation Supervisor focusses on creating customer trust, value and loyalty and hence we are looking for somebody with a proven track record of being someone who considers attention to detail as a priority. We need someone who has the ability to influence, is result driven and has a strong commercial acumen.

Are you the one?
- Hold a Diploma or higher in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with a Project Management Professional qualification desirable;
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in Project Management and managed subcontractors;
- Experience in running Construction and/or electrical projects through the full lifecycle
- Experience in the modernization and/or full replacement of elevators and escalators will be advantageous;
- Ability to comply with the Project Management Office, while focusing on project scope, schedule and budget, delivering the project within the defined contractual requirements and objectives;
- Act as a single point of contact towards the customer during installation regarding site management, with pro-active communication and usage of related tools
- Be responsible for achieving own targets of add-on sales and change orders during installation
- Be accountable for customer satisfaction on installation process and quality of installation
- Effective stakeholder management through the project management process; Experience on CRM tools and MS Office and in particular MS Project;
- Subcontractor relations and people leadership:

- Be responsible for verifying that installers are trained, certified, competent and capable of performing each installation task
- Be accountable for site operatives’ motivation and wellbeing
- Be responsible for identifying field operative training needs and communicating these to respective line managers, HR, installation subcontracting companies and sourcing
- Be responsible for site planning, communication, objective setting and progress monitoring
- Be responsible for managing the performance of the team and individuals
- Be responsible for developing and maintaining a proactive and professional relationship with subcontractors
- Regular project status effectively communicated to KONE management and to customer;
- Effective leader and coach with the ability to motivate a successful installation team;
- Highly motivated, goal oriented, diligent, organized self-starter with an orientation towards a high level of customer service;
- Ability to work together as a team and promote a harmonious environment;
- Passion for Mechanical & Electrical vocations, with a proven track record and a strong customer focus.
