Lab Technician

**Lab Technician (SAIOH)
- Asbestos, Sandton, Rneg + benefits**
- Relevant **B Degree, or equivalent M+3**
- **Registered Occupational Hygiene Assistant (SAIOH).**
- Competent / experienced in **asbestos fibre counting / identification and gravimetric methods.**
- Competence and **experience in the calibration procedures of instrumentation**.
- Competent and experienced to **conduct routine in-house maintenance on instrumentation**.
- 2 years relevant experience.

**DUTIES**:

- Management and administration of Laboratory.
- Daily calibration and preparation of measuring equipment for Inspections, Surveys and Tests.
- Annual planned calibration of measuring equipment.
- Clean and maintain measuring equipment.
- Send samples for analysis by an approved SANAS Laboratory.
- Control consumables stock, chemicals, filter media, tube media, diffusion badges, etc.
- Gravimetric determination of filters.
- Asbestos fiber counting.
- Asbestos identification.
- Prepare and submit test reports to Occupational Hygienist (Technical signatory) for review and signature.
- Authorised to sign orders for Laboratory Consumables not exceeding R 5 000.00.
