**Introduction**:
Clicks is on the look out for a Data Architect, which will be a data lead, required to visualise and build the enterprise data management framework and create a "blueprint" of the complete framework. This includes the design and implementation of database solutions and models to store and retrieve company data and enable effective analytics. Coordinate data mapping exercises and translate business needs and requirements into technical specifications, system requirements, reports and data flows. This role is based at our Head Office in Cape Town, and reports into the IT Solutions Executive, working with Application Portfolio Managers and Solution Architects.

**Job description**:

- Lead ‘white board' data discussions with Application Managers, business unit (Executive) Leadership and industry experts/consultants.
- Ensure that systems, protocols and technology are used correctly to collect and store data in a way that enables effective analytics.
- Prepare database design and architecture reports for management and executive teams.
- Responsible for designing and implementing short and long-term strategic goals for managing and maintaining solutions and software.
- Design, create and monitor the implementation of end-to-end integrated systems and review new and existing system designs and make recommendations for improving or altering the solutions
- Ensure that planned and in-place solutions are aligned with the Clicks data principles.
- Conduct research on new technologies and create and develop plans for investing in such systems that will increase cost effectiveness and flexibility
- Analyse and address complex issues and recommend appropriate solutions, including issues with respect to performance, scalability and manageability of system solutions and development efforts.
Evaluate project and vendor solutions according to business requirements and recommend appropriate product and/or software solutions, with due consideration for the technology fit from an end-to-end architectural perspective.
