Our client, a large logistics company. focused on customizing client solutions and delivering service excellence which offers an exclusive supply chain solution, specializing in client and fleet requirements is looking for an IT Director based in DURBAN..

We are looking for a business leader to add strategic value around data and information and to lead the BI team.

**QUALIFICATION**

BCom / BSc / MBA or related business degree

**JOB REQUIREMENTS**
- Must have at least 15 years previous experience in the IT field with a minimum of 10 years at a management level
- Previous experience in the logistics industry
- Must have proven track record displaying supportive leadership resulting in team meeting goals in a positive context.
- Must have a proven track record show ability to deliver solutions that are customer-focused whilst at the same time driving revenue growth
- Must be commercially minded with the ability to define, execute, and deliver digital transformation and cloud migration projects
- Must have strong business acumen, outstanding verbal and written communication skills, strategic planning skills
- Ability to formulate and document plans, policies and procedures for adoption by the business
- Must have a passion for solving complex business problems with great technology solutions
- Proficiency in establishing and encouraging adoption of innovative frameworks and supporting policies thereof.
- Good Financial Acumen and an aptitude for research and investigation
- Aptitude for customer engagement analysis; and ability to establish partnerships with service providers and vendors and be able to interact and clearly communicate with customers and business partners.
- Ability to develop proof of concept projects to motivate innovative recommendations to the business
- Strong people and leadership skills with the ability to be decisive and own the decision-making process

The ability to work under pressure and think critically in a high paced environment.

**_TECHNICAL SKILLS_**

- Must be familiar and have successfully implemented agile methodologies (ideally Scrum) in cross stack, multi-tier software development teams, working on multiple workstreams concurrently and ideally possessing a Scrum Master certification.- Must be familiar in cloud-based software products and have successfully delivered one or more products based on RESTful APIs or ideally on a modern Micro Services or Event Based architecture.- Must be familiar with IaaS providers (AWS, Azure, GC) and with containerization (Docker and Kubernetes) and in general must dominate the most common deployment scenarios using also on-premises hardware- Must have proven experience with TDD development methodologies, understand the challenges and be able to implement E2E and unit testing across all the company software portfolio.- Must dominate code versioning, one of more collaboration strategies (e.g. Gitflow) and be able to introduce Continuous Integration where possible;-
- Nice to have, SQL skills (MSSQL and Postgres) and understanding of how Javascript MVC frameworks work (Angular, VueJS)
