- Development and monitoring of all packaging budget across all finishing areas, using zero based budgeting.
- Development and maintenance of all Bill of Materials.
- Collaborate with purchasing and production areas in the identification of additional cost-saving opportunities via the tender process and new product development.
- Lead packaging projects internally from trial phase to full implementation
- Lead the management of the change process via the MOC framework documentation
- Management and improvement of existing cost-saving initiatives( Returnable system)
- Develop and maintain all packaging designs (specifications) according to company standards and maintain packaging documents.
- Facilitate any changes to the packaging designs/drawings (Overall case, pallets, boxes, plastic, glass, paper, cardboard etc.)
- Manage the process of closing off packaging-related customer complaints
- Facilitate customer visits to identify process improvements across all packaging types
- Introduce and maintain quality control systems for receiving packaging (e.g., pallets)
- Introduce systems to manage and ensure that packaging is not contaminated by foreign particles by ensuring that pallet storage conditions audits are conducted both on-site and at SACD
- Management of packaging cost performance via the OPP
- Continuous improvement of packaging systems and packaging technologies

**Qualifications and Experience**:

- At least five years’ experience in design and manufacturing environment
- Packaging Technology Diploma or Advanced Diploma (A qualification from IPSA would also be considered)
- A BSc/B. Tech Degree in industrial design or similar would be advantageous
- A portfolio with previous successful work/designs would be advantageous
- Good mathematical skills for calculations on cost savings
- Good organizational, presentation and communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to adapt to various situations in a pressurized environment
