**Building a vaccine R&D and manufacturing workforce for Africa**

**Health, Life and Allied Sciences graduates**

The CSSFF-SAMRC Capacity Development Programme is a partnership to train and build the African workforce in vaccine manufacturing in Africa. The Programme is geared to enhance Africa’s health and biotechnology human capital and is an open call to specifically grow Africa’s workforce in vaccine manufacturing.

Preference will be given to recent graduates with a degree in health sciences, life sciences, chemistry (including process and analytical chemistry), chemical engineering, pharmacy and allied science degrees that are relevant for the health and biotechnology sector and for vaccine manufacturing.

The lab-based training Programme will cover rudimentary skills (both laboratory and soft skills) required in biopharmaceutical manufacturing and will extend through to key processes involved in up
- and down-stream biopharmaceutical manufacturing.

**Minimum requirements & Eligibility**:
1) 3 or 4 year degree in health sciences, life sciences, chemistry (including process and analytical chemistry), chemical engineering, pharmacy and allied science degrees

2) For those completing undergraduate degrees (including BTech degrees) in 2023, awards will be conditional on the submission of certified copies of qualifications and academic transcripts.

3) Interest in biopharmaceutical manufacturing

4) Computer literate

5) Ability to communicate effectively and write reports.

6) Must be a South African Citizen (or have permanent residency)
