Based at the Group Head Office in Plattekloof in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town, you will be reporting to the Chief Operations Officer and be responsible for managing the supply chain function of all purchase and sourcing activities for 3 manufacturing facilities located in George, Swellendam and Athlone.

You will oversee the site buyers responsible for replenishment and inventory of operational and maintenance goods and supplies. You will review replenishment to sales forecast, NPD and discontinuations. It is your responsibility to develop, lead and execute procurement strategies. Effective communication to your team as well as the Executive leadership is essential. Operationally you need to:

- Develop, lead and execute procurement strategies - Embed the procurement strategy, objectives and programmes into a longer term strategic financial plans for the business - Establish and deliver aggressive cost management targets and performance indicators to demonstrate value for money from the strategic procurement services - Set policy and guidelines for delivering commercial and cost-effective procuring processes for the business - Analyse market and delivery trends to develop procurement technologies and processes that support those trends - Perform cost and scenario analysis, and benchmarking - Forecast price and market trends to identify changes of balance in buyer
- supplier power - Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand - Conduct business review meetings with key stakeholders to assess risks, review future strategies, and identify potential cost down and improvement opportunities - Perform all procurement contracting activities - Negotiate contracts with suppliers to obtain best price and service - Arrange settlement terms and purchasing incentives - Manage stock levels of goods procured in order to achieve lower working capital for the company - Support departmental budget optimisation - Collect and consolidate affiliate spend data and products specifications for assigned categories to identify main cost drivers - Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness - Implement sound management processes in the stores to manage costs with regards to infrastructure etc.

The above is delivered effectively considering **Human Resources** - Compliance to Labour Legislations and Company policies and procedures, **Food Safety / Hygiene and Quality** as well as **Health, Safety and Environmental Standards.
