**Job Description**:
Collateral Management
- To proactively monitor, review and escalate portfolio collateral, cash cover and ongoing monitoring of collateral in relation to debt facilities.
- Ability to coordinate and implement procedures, systems and controls related to the receiving, updating and recording of transactional and/or operational information and activities associated with the functionality of the department
- Demonstrate prudence, sound judgement, and appropriate and timely escalations in the management of all types of risk
- Identify and management of risk within area and report all risk events/incidents/issues immediately upon discovery and escalate significant events/incidents/issues using the defined process
- Drive the development and implementation of measures to avoid, reduce or mitigate the identified risks, including the performance of an audit
- Ensure that all standard documentation is drafted in accordance with credit approvals, ensuring correctness and adherence to legislative requirements governance and policy standards
- Ensure that the appropriate governance procedures have been complied with before drawdown and that the highest standards of controls and risk management were applied, inclusive of all applicable laws and regulations, relevant Absa policies and procedures
- Proactively identify ways to improve the control environment by considering what could go wrong in our processes and how errors could be prevented - focusing on fixing root causes and taking ownership of identified actions
- Take ownership for audit findings, agree audit actions and closure dates, follow through on resolution and arrange issue assurance and closure
- Proactively identify ways to increase use of automated controls and create a balance between preventative and detective controls
- Annalise and identify gaps within processes and procedures, to enhance efficiency and improve turnaround times and quality output
- Ensure regular and correct capturing of forecasting, production milestones and / or any other workload reporting requirements on spreadsheets and/or systems as required. Compile Management Information (MI) reports
- Management of obsolete files, information, and documents on related systems
- Outstanding collateral report and expired insurance report to be updated and addressed
- Uses technology to design and prepare management information, using automation to drive improved business outcomes. Able to understand and interpret reporting requirements
- Displays a good understanding of the concept of risk and the different kinds of risk. Understands the company risk management policy and process
- Develops, maintains and strengthens relationships with relevant internal and external stakeholders with the aim of achieving organizational or service goals.
- To understand and adhere to the Absa Group policies and procedures governing credit-, product
- and reputational risk as well as any policies in accordance with regulatory and/or compliance approvals.
- To compile and deliver high quality reports, and reporting in key forums on a monthly basis
- Submission of collateral monitoring outcomes monthly, report to the relevant credit and product risk committee’s
- Ensure favorable audit and risk management outcomes, manage and drive closure of any issues or risk events as required altering processes where needed to avoid repeat events.
