Seeking a Marine Carpentry Foreman to join a shipbuilding company based in Cape Town.

Must be a Multi-Skilled Hands-on person who is able to impart their knowledge on the team.
- Plan and organize production according to the daily and weekly production plan
- Deal with shortages and material deficiencies
- Motivate team to achieve targets and deadlines and maintain good working relationships within the team
- Ensure that team members have sufficient information to complete the job, works are done correctly with mínimal downtime, and provide accurate feedback on weekly progress
- Ensure delays/bottlenecks are recorded and presented and all administrative tasks are kept up to date
- Ensure that team members and subcontractors are accountable for the quality of their works and ensure that the company standard is maintained and improved
- Coach and counsel artisans where necessary and ensure team meetings are held on a weekly basis
- Identify performance gaps and provide training recommendations

**-Supervise vessel planning activities prior to the ship arriving to port**.
- Manage Production
- Ensures the load and discharge is performed accurately and timely.
- Acts as a focal point for any issues that may arise with assigned vessel.
- **Leading**: Leading a team of carpenters and other workers
- **Communicating**: Communicating with customer representatives
- **Preparing reports**: Preparing reports and other documents
- **Ensuring safety**: Ensuring that safety rules are followed and that workers are trained in safe use of tools and equipment
- **Managing budgets**: Developing and managing project budgets
- **Resolving conflicts**: Resolving conflicts or miscommunications quickly and amicably
- **Reporting progress**: Reporting project status to supervisors, site engineers, and other officials

Must have 5 years experience in organizing ship hull assembly and welding

**Must have Knowledge of**:

- Solid Works
- Cutting
- Machining
- Furniture
- Different Glues
- Carpenter Certificate
