New Vacancy: Assistant Primate Manager
The Jane Goodall Institute SA - Chimp Eden Sanctuary

**Salary**: Basic + Live In

We are looking for a SA Citizen or resident to assist the primate care manager with the overall management, operation and care of all the chimpanzees residing at Chimp Eden.

Duties will include:
Assisting with the day to day managment and long term health and well-being of the chimpanzees. This will include diet/nutrition, enrichment, integrations and veterinary care, as well as assisting in the development and maintenance of operational plans, the preparation of chimpanzee care manuals and protocols, and training of staff members to coordinate best practices in the care and management of Chimp Eden’s chimpanzees.

**Requirements**:

- Grade 12
- Diploma or Degree in Nature Conservation / Zoology / Primatology
- Valid Driver License
- At least 2+ years experience working with primates
- Microsoft Office experience
- Knowledge of Proctocols and Regulations
- Excellent organisational skills
- Experience in staff and line management
- Pay attention to detail
- Ability to communicate and follow Direction
- Must be Covid vaccinated
- Ability to work outdoors in extreme weather patterns, including heat, humidity and heavy rain.
- Must be comfortable wearing PPE, such as gloves and masks for an extended period of time.
