**A permanent vacancy exists for a Laboratory Assistant**

**Rotational Blood bank (Paterson Grade B2)**

Main Purpose:
Prevents expiry of blood products and consumables by counting, receiving, checking and packing it in strict date order. Co-ordinates the process of biohazardous waste collection. Clean hampers, equipment and work surfaces.

Minimum Requirements
- Matric Certificate (Math & Science)
- Certificate in Laboratory Assistant or Technician (Blood Transfusion)
- Computer literate
- Registration with HPCSA
- The working hours are variable and shift work is required

**A combination of the following skills, knowledge and attributes is required**:

- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Have a friendly disposition and show keen interest in the work.
- A willingness to work as part of a team is essential
