**Key Performance Area**:

- Practice within scope of practice as a Registered Nurse.
- Surgical scrub and go into the surgery with the surgical patient and doctors.
- Set up the operating room for the patient.
- Ensure all the tools are sterile and ready to go.
- To ensure that theatre is always running at the highest standards.
- Ensure safety, quality patient care in theatre.
- Lead and supervise staff in theatre.
- Equipment maintenance and motivations.
- Teaching staff in the unit.
- Comply with SANC and stakeholder legislation.

**Minimum Requirements**:

- Matric is essential.
- Relevant diploma/ degree in essential.
- Atleast 2 years’ experience as a scrub nurse is essential.
- Diploma in medical and surgical nursing science/equivalent or related to will be an added advantage.
- Working experience as a recovery nurse will be an added advantage.
- Must be able to practice within your scope of practice as a Registered Nurse.
- Must be competent with the Hospital’s Policies and Regulations.
- Must have experience in handling drugs and scheduling is a legal requirement.
- Must be prepared to work additional hours.
- Must be able to work independently under minimum supervision.
- Must be computer literate - MS Word & Excel.
