A client-focused Trust and Investment Management company providing financial planning and investment advice and services to clients planning for, or already in their retirement years.

They offer a full range of financial services including: Investment & Portfolio Management, Offshore Financial Services, Trustee Services, Retirement Planning, Local & Offshore Money Market, Estate Planning, Tax Services and Wills. They also offer its own Unit Trust funds to clients, and attends to the accounting and administration of said unit trust internally.

About the job:
This new vacancy has been created in our Fund Management team, at our offices in Rondebosch. This middle office role is responsible for daily technical operations support to the Portfolio Management team, including equity analysis support, execution of trades relating to the investment strategy, as well as all recordkeeping related the implementation of the wider investment strategy. Role is ideally suited to graduate with completed B Bus Sci degree, or B Com Honours in Financial Analysis and Portfolio Management, or completed Honours programme in Finance/ Economics or similar.

Key responsibilities include:

- Work with Portfolio Manager(s) to ensure best execution of trades.
- Liaison between Portfolio Manager and external brokers to action dealing transactions (daily),

documentation of same, including accounting records of payments due or receipted
- Prepare performance reports for clients, Trust Officers (financial advisory team) & Investment

Council members (quarterly, monthly & ad hoc).
- Preparation and circulation of equity analysis support to Trust Officers (financial advisory team) & Investment Council members (adhoc)
- Maintaining & generating Local & Offshore Model Portfolio reporting material.
- Assists with day‐to‐day portfolio management and administration of client portfolios.
- Updating and idea generation for House View portfolios.
- Financial Modelling, and maintenance

Key requirements for applicants:

- Relevant tertiary qualification a necessity: B Bus Sci, or Completed Honours in Portfolio Analysis and Financial Analysis, or completed Honours programme in Finance/ Economics or similar
- Completed CFA Level 1 preferred
- Computer literacy a necessity: including MS Excel (advanced)
- Previous junior analyst experience and/ or dealer experience an advantage
- Accurate and deadline oriented
- Initiative, idea generation capabilities
