Our client, a wine estate, between Somerset West and Stellenbosch, requires a Maintenance Manager to maintain the Estate infrastructure in a “fit for purpose” state at all times.

As the Maintenance Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities and equipment. You will lead a team of skilled technicians and oversee all aspects of maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting. Your expertise as an electrician will be instrumental in diagnosing and addressing electrical issues promptly and effectively.

**Responsibilities**:
Manage maintenance budget including monitoring inventory and expenses.

To take immediate action in the event of an absolute emergency summoning assistance from the appropriate authority when necessary, during duty hours and outside of duty hours.

Ensure complaints and service failures are remedied in a timely manner.

Coordinate major maintenance and repairs as required to mechanical systems, HVAC systems, generators/solar, and water systems.

Schedule and supervise outsourced maintenance activities including work performed by contractors or subcontractors.

Serve as Health and safety representative, including coordination of safety training needs, assisting with safety audits, facilitating compliance with standards, and maintaining related safety records.

Maintain the presentation of vehicles and plant paying particular attention to ensuring all vehicles are checked for defects by drivers at the beginning and end of each working day, and that defects are recorded and addressed accordingly.

Ensure fire protection equipment is properly maintained and up to date
Operate light and heavy machinery, including tractors, trailers, and garden equipment

Supervise staff at weekends, holidays, and evenings as required.

Routine preventative maintenance of all farm assets.

Train employees in equipment, task procedures, work standards, and proper safety procedures.

Ensure cleaners follow SOPs and cleaning of facilities is to company standard.

**Qualifications**:
A Qualified electrician would be advantageous

Red seal in electrical qualification

**Experience**:
Proven experience as an electrician, with a minimum of 5 years in a maintenance or supervisory role.

Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems, equipment, and codes.

**Requirements**:
Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and mentor a team.

Solid problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to maintenance challenges.

Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Own Vehicle

Valid Driver’s Licence

Reside in within a reasonable distance from the Estate.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From R40 000,00 per month
