An exciting opportunity exists to join Nandos South Africa's Finance Department. We won't hire you to count chickens but knowledge of numbers should be an advantage.

The purpose of the Finance Business partner is not only limited to transactional requirements, it is expected of the role to provide the appropriate control measures, strategic insights, and reporting across Casas (Restaurants), supporting the operations team of Nandos South Africa.

**Minimum Requirements**:

- 2 - 5 years experience in financial accounting or a relevant field.
- Knowledge of an accounting package - not specified (Advanced)
- Knowledge and understanding of VAT (Intermediate)
- Knowledge of accounting (Advanced)
- Analytical skills (Advanced)
- Problem-solving (Advanced)
- Critical thinking (Advanced)
- Facilitation and conflict resolution (Intermediate to Advanced)
- Microsoft Office skills (Advanced), EXCEL
- Presentation skills (Advanced)
- Managing a Team (Advantageous)
- Knowledge of SAGE X3 (Highly Advantageous)

**Duties and Responsibilities**:
**Stakeholder and relationship management**
- Conduct Casa visits in conjunction with the Area Managers to seek opportunities for business improvement
- Where issues arise, action conflict management and resolution
- Conduct and coordinate Education/Training/Informal Workshops and prepare the training material to upskill Ops Teams
- Maintain and manage business relationship management with relevant stakeholders (Ops, Supply Chain, etc.)
- Deliver effective and engaging presentations to a variety of audiences providing valuable insights into business performance, key drivers, and areas for improvement
- Develop positive and healthy relationships through collaboration
- across all areas of the restaurant operations and have a strong, intuitive understanding of stakeholders and their needs
- Facilitate information sharing through effective communication
- and where required, the corrective action process
- Build agreement, cooperation, and a unified sense of purpose in a skillful/expert way
- State opinions with confidence and present ideas affirmatively while maintaining one’s position without becoming aggressive
- Provide technical support to field teams and provide viable solutions to business problems as they arise working proactively to link multiple functions together ensuring a collective approach to the business (Casa specific) performance.

**Financial Administration and Information Management**
- Provide input into key strategic decisions and the formulation of business strategies.
- Assess internal controls and manage compliance with policies, procedures, costing practices, and processes
- Perform financial modeling and scenario analysis
- Recommend techniques to reduce costs and increase profits
- Advise on and clarify the financial implications of business decisions
- Conduct stock evaluations and physical audits of Casas when required
- Conduct ongoing reviews of cash movement within the Casas
- Prepare and process monthly journals for the general ledger
- periodic accounting
- Process month-end journals and adjustments
- Monitor and investigate deviations in actual performance vs budget and PNL
- Prepare Profit and Loss statements at period-end after reviews with the Operations team
- Investigate and resolve cash shortages
- Manage accruals and provisions with periodic and monthly reviews of Casa balance sheets
- Provide management accounting support to all end-users
- Perform any ad-hoc duties or support functions as required

**Variance analysis and cost reporting**
- Report on performance, profitability, and stock variances, driving investigations and solutions on these variances
- Engage in budgetary control and transaction support
- Aggregate Casa results to support Area Managers and Regional
- General Managers
- Analyze, investigate and report on Casa's Gross Profit and follow
- up on variances
- Carry out audits on weekly cost reports of Casa expenses Develop effective reporting methods to highlight cost control Prepare and present to area teams on the management of costs within the Casas and where improvements can be achieved

**Financial forecasting and budgeting**
- Prepare, consolidate and coordinate area, short-term, and medium-term Casa forecasts in line with business plans
- Monitor, control, and coordinate budget cycle requirements under the management of the Regional GM

**People management**
- Coordinate activities of Verification Clerks in order to ensure that the region’s operational requirements are met
- Actively manage the performance and potential of the Regional
- Verification Clerks, providing upskilling, coaching, mentorship, and leadership to support problem-solving, assess productivity, and recommend changes where required
- Work with the People Team in dealing with grievances and disciplinary
