Engineering: Electro Optics 

We have a vacancy for an Electro Optics Engineer and we are looking for a self-motivated, -driven and responsible technical professional. If you are creative in terms of problem solving, have critical thinking and structured problem solving skills, then this might be the position for you.

**Your Role**:
To help design, develop and maintain competitive products, which integrate in the higher-level product, to meet and exceed the market/end-user requirements. This position is in the Electro Optics department.

**Financial Management**:

- Inputs into budgets, quotes, tenders and project plans
- Product cost - design for optimum cost of a product
- Identify cost effective tools, systems and services required for the development and ongoing improvement of the product
**Business Process Management**:

- Adhere to company business management systems, policies, procedures and best practice for design related activities
- Perform industrialisation activities of aspects of sub systems
- Perform research, design and development of aspects of sub systems
- Perform design activities for effective support to Production, System Integration, Product Management, Project Management, Marketing and others
- Provide effective design related risk assessment and technical inputs into R&D and customer programs
**Client and Vendor Management**:

- Provide the required support to Product Areas and other groups who interface directly with clients
- Assist to identify and evaluate vendors as part of the development and industrialisation process
**Your Profile**:**
Required Skills**:

- Electronic HW knowledge, especially analogue circuit design and enhancement.
- Optic, electro-optic and radiometry knowledge will be an advantage
- Basic system engineering knowledge
- Knowledge of configuration and qualification processes
**Practical Experience**:

- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in multi-disciplinary engineering R&D and product development environment
- Experience in the Defence environment will be an advantage
- Knowledge of obsolescence management will be an advantage
- Knowledge of electro-optic systems will be an advantage
**Education**:

- B.Eng. Electronics, technical electronic hardware, or an equivalent qualification
