**Key Areas of Responsibility**:

- Leading and managing VOW 88.1 newsroom, including sub-editing hourly news bulletins;
- Collaborating with the Academy’s Local Journalism and Radio Programming & Production course facilitators to build capacity and train VOW 88.1 and other partner campus-based community radio newsrooms and content development team members;
- Overseeing the production of sound-rich inserts for current affairs radio shows: conceptualizing, reporting, gathering sound, scripting and producing;
- Assisting the Academy and VOW 88.1 with news and current affairs show planning, live show production and debriefing afterwards;
- Innovation in terms of formats, approaches and topics to create great radio;

**Requirements**:

- Post Matric Qualification in Radio
- 2 years’ experience of radio newsroom leadership and management, including local radio news and current affairs shows editing;
- Ability to engage and work with newsroom and production teams;
- Some key personal characteristics: developing young newsroom talent.
- A willingness to work flexible hours;
