Purpose summary
Responsible for maintaining, modifying, installation and repairs of equipment in the plant to minimise loss of production.
Job description
Collaboration with the relevant departments to understand what needs are in order to ensure availability of equipment and machinery.
Installation and integration of new equipment and machine into existing production processes.
Perform preventive and breakdown maintenance on all equipment and equipment.
Coordinate planned maintenance to ensure that it is executed within the stated timelines.
Provide input on task team appointed for procurement of equipment and machinery based on requirements of production processes.
Seek technical advise from Original Equipment Manufacturers on maintenance procedures.
Compile fault reports on equipment and machinery and advice Foreman/Manager/Production Planner of any potential production downtime.
Provide practical and theoretical training and mentorship to Apprentices and Junior Artisans.
Input required in problem solving sessions led by Industrial Engineering.
Identify opportunities for improvement of the current processes by implement innovative ideas.
Perform standby duties when required in order to address any breakdowns
Adhere to all health and safety regulations and report all safety hazards, accidents and incidents to relevant parties.
Adhere to set out world class manufacturing standards in order to ensure the company remains competitive.
Requirements (qualifications, experience & skills)
Grade 12/Matric/NQF level 4
Up to 5 years experience
