Senior Buyer

Manage purchasing of critical raw materials:

- Processing purchase orders, organising and confirming delivery of goods and services.
- Tracking orders through the shipping department to ensure timeous inventory receipts
- Monitor and track monthly material forecast and usage trends to ensure sufficient stock for daily production and safety stock
- Take part in supplier negotiations
- Analyse the marketplace to find suppliers that provide best product/service cost, quality and delivery objectives
- Supplier contract implementation and monitoring
- Supplier Development/Management
- Inventory management - manage an efficient flow of goods to ensure and maintain security of supply and optimum production
- Satisfy production and sales requirements
- Maintain necessary quality and safety procedures/documentations, related to purchasing.
- Ensure that the policies and procedures of the company, as well as relevant laws and regulations, are properly implemented and adhered to at all time.
- Identify areas of improvement in order to continually drive performance and business results
- Evaluates monitors and reports on supplier performance by recording and measuring incoming material quality, on-time delivery and service levels. Arranges meetings with supplier personnel to resolve problems, communicate Animal Health requirements and to build quality working relationships with approved suppliers

**Qualifications & Experience**:

- Matric / Grade 12
- Bachelor Degree/Diploma in Business, Procurement, Supply Chain Management/ Agriculture
- Minimum of 5 years procurement experience
- Extensive experience in manufacturing animal premix an added advantage
- Background in manufacturing processes and a working knowledge of MRP & ERP systems (SAP/SYSPRO) preferred
- Must be able to work under pressure
- Computer Literate
- Knowledge and experience in transformative Preferential Procurement policy under BBBEE regulations
