**Head of Junior Primary School in Rosebank (161 learners), effective** **January 2024**

**Requirements**:

- BEd or B-degree and Post Graduate Diploma in Education
- 10 years’ teaching experience
- Experience in leading a team in an educational environment including a phase team or school.
- Track record of successful student attainment & staff performance.
- Driver’s license and own transport
- South African Citizen
- Permanent SACE membership
- Experience in a state/ independent school will be an advantage
- Have a successful track record in the role of senior leadership within a school of standing and excellence together with appropriate academic and/or business qualifications;
- Be fully conversant with current trends and developments within educational fields;
- Have a passion for education and a vision for the future of the school and the ability to share this with the community;
- Have the ability to challenge and inspire learners and teachers to live out their values;
- Be an innovative, visionary leader;
- Promote a good image of the school, particularly school values.
- Be able to attract and retain educators of exceptional quality;
- Encourage and support staff development;
- Be flexible and able to work outside of office hours if needed;
- Substantive understanding of current pressures relating to family and socio-economic aspects and how these may impact pupils and staff members.
