Warehouse Superintendent

Opportunity Available Our leading client in the Logistics Sector is looking to employ a Warehouse Superintendent to join their dynamic team in Durban.
- Reduction of damages to cargo.
- The elimination of receipt and dispatch errors.
- Co-ordinating and co-operating with other company departments
- Driving improvement in warehouse utilization and throughput.
- Effective planning and supervision of staff.
- Improvement in housekeeping standards.
- Improvement in team spirit and morale.
- Improving productivity and vehicle turn-around times through the facilities.
- Overall responsibility for productivity and efficiency of operating shifts.
- Improved stock management through the facilities

**Job Requirements**:

- A matric (Grade 12) level of education
- A relevant formal qualification
- Computer literate (MS Office; especially Excel and Outlook)
- Supervisory/ managerial training would be advantageous.
- Computer literate (COL Exposure is a pre-requisite)
- Must have sound knowledge of Bulk and Breakbulk operations - Minimum 5 years’ experience.
- Knowledge of container packing/unpacking operations would be advantageous.
- Proven supervisory experience with excellent planning skills.
- Forklift Certification would be advantageous.
- Experience with vessel operations - planning organising and executing shift operations.
- Sound industrial relations knowledge and experience including investigation and initiation of Disciplinary enquiries.
- A working knowledge of NOSA/ISO systems and procedures.
- Availability to work irregular hours as demanded by the nature of the operation; shift work is a requirement.
- Assertive and confident by nature.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with individuals at all levels.
- Valid Code 08 Driver’s license
