Mechanical Chargehand

To assist the General Engineering Foreman to plan work requirements and priorities to ensure availability of materials, equipment, to achieve the output.
- The incumbent will also be required to lead the artisans so that they have clear work expectations and plans
- Implement and maintain all applicable safety regulations, acts, codes of practice, standards, discipline and assist with HR and IR issues.
- Standby duty, overtime and work on Sundays/public holidays will be required.
- He/she will report to the General Engineering Foreman and will be appointed by the Manager under Regulation 2.9.2.
- N3 or Grade 12 qualification
- Relevant trade certificate (MIETTB or Olifantsfontein registration)
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as qualified Artisan
- Some General Engineering Foreman relieving experience
- Valid certificate of physical fitness
- Ability to read and write in English
- Ability to communicate with people on different levels
- Extensive experience for maintenance of Hydraulic circuits, General Mechanical, Engineering workshop practice (lathes, pedestal drills, welding techniques, etc.), out electric and diesel engines.
