Mzansi Exploration Drilling (PTY) Ltd Urgently seeking new Safety Officer for the duration of 6 Months.

**Requirements**:
Grade 12 (NQF Level 4)

Relevant tertiary qualification: National Diploma Safety Management, NEBOSH, COMSOC, SAMTRAC or equivalent.

Training - First aid Level 2; Accident and Incident Investigation, HIRA, Safety and Environmental legislation
- Thorough knowledge of mining-specific occupational health and safety regulations, codes, and standards.

Minimum of 5+ years of experience as a Health and Safety Officer

Knowledge and experience with reporting, Workmen’s Compensation, relevant legislations, and understand the legal required reporting process.

Computer Literate (MS Office experience essential)

Driver’s license and reliable transport.

Understanding and experience in ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 standards

Must be medically fit

Clear criminal record

Must have experience in the mining industry

**General requirements**

Ensuring that all crews conduct toolbox talks on a daily basis

Ensuring that good housekeeping principles are maintained

Stopping, preventing and correcting unsafe behavior or failure to complete correct work procedures in liaison with Site Manager

Completing any other reasonable task as requested from management

Conduct Safety Officer inspections and generate and upload the relevant reports

Communicate Health and Safety Awareness and Campaigns and on the job coaching of legislative and procedural requirements

Attend meetings with relevant Management as required.

**Duties**:
Complete tasks/ inspections/ reports within their portfolio on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, adhoc basis as required.

Get the team to follow their instructions

Complete administration on time and accurately

Productivity to complete targets as set out by management

Adhere to defined processes and procedures, within the organization

Send incidents, notifications and reports accurately and timeously

Adhere to company and client sop's/cop’s/ ISO’s policies and procedures

Have a positive impact on the attitudes and performance of the team through their approach to work

Be proactive rather than a reactive

Must be willing to travel often and for extended periods

Demonstrate strong personal commitment to the company’s goals

Communicate with staff and management, effectively, morally and openly

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Hammanskraal, Gauteng: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
