Technical Trainer

**Job Desciption**:
ITB Flexible Packaging Solutions (ITB) is a flexible plastic packaging manufacturer and part of the Novus Holdings Group. ITB produces an array packaging for the FMCG and food markets. Its products include retail bags, security bags, FFS food packaging, heavy duty sacks and carrier bags which are distributed across South Africa and abroad.

**Key Duties and Responsibilities**:

- To profile the individual operator’s competency using competency matrix techniques to identify operator’s technical gaps.
- To supporting the Training department in developing employees' skills to support effective competencies through the provision of effective technical training.
- Regular assessment of the performance of trainees on the training programmes and to update training matrixes plus competency matrixes.
- Continuously liaise with the respective managers to give training progress report and achievement of on-the-job training activities including requirement.
- To analyse the technical training requirements and then translate all the training requirements into a measurable action plan in support of training department objectives.
- To conduct and monitor on the job training and to mentor trainees according to ITB training implementation procedures.
- To facilitate and implement departmental technical skills versatility chart.
- To conduct skills auditing and assessment according to SAQA national qualification framework.
- To plan and design outcome based of technical work-based learning programs.
- To measure the appropriateness of the used training methods continuously.
- To perform any reasonable duties within the scope of work and capability as and when instructed by superiors.

**Educational Requirements**:

- Matric certificate or equivalent.
- NQF 5 ETDP Train the trainer certificate.
- NQF 5 ETDP assessor certificate

**Experience Requirements**:

- At least 4 years’ experience in flexible plastics manufacturing operations.
- At least 4yrs of experience in blown film extrusion or Flexographic operation.
- At least 4 years Training experience
- Knowledge of LLDPE, HDPE, LDPE, MLLDPE, MPE, PP an added advantage
- Knowledge of Microsoft packages (esp. Powerpoint.

- Ability to project training returns on investment.
- Ability to plan and execute training task.
- Ability to handle and pinpoint the training of the learner with learning difficulties.
