Perishable Manager and Buyer

**Basic Function**:
Purchasing the correct range of products competitively from suppliers that will be delivered on time.

**Duties**:

- Responsible for the buying of eggs, bread, dairy, juice, soft drinks, mineral water, frozen foods, ice-cream, rusks and charcoal.
- Ensure the back-up stock is neatly stored and rotated. (FIFO)
**- **Ensure that the admin is maintained.
**- **Maintain low supplier returns.
- Ensure that the cold chain is maintained from receiving, storage and merchandising.
- Maintain an efficient and productive perishable department orientation.
- Maintain correct stock levels based on sales.
- Making decisions impacting the store, merchandising presentation and the level of service offered to customers.
- Maximizing sales by providing extraordinary customer service and minimizing shrinkage.
- Provide support to other managers as per request or based upon necessity.
- Ensure that all sales promotion posters are properly utilized.

**Control Measures**:

- Cold chain Management.
- Volume growth of the products.
- Personnel Management.
- Adhering to company policy and procedures.

**Qualifications**:

- Purchasing background is an absolute must.
- Must have completed Grade 12. ( A Higher qualification is an advantage)
- Management Experience is a must.

**Salary**: R22,000.00 - R35,000.00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Silverton, Gauteng: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- Perishable Management: 5 years (required)

**Language**:

- Afrikaans & English (required)
