Matric. Formally qualified chef. 3 - 5 years pastry experience, in a well recognised 5 star establishment. Cooperative and hardworking. Creative and first-class cooking skills. Good communication skills: read, write and speak English. Good knowledge of hygiene and safety. Computer literate.
- Daily management of the pastry kitchen ensuring that the pastry section produces the necessary breads, croissants, danish pastries, ice creams, sorbets, cakes, biscuits and desserts ensuring presentation to expected 5* standards
- Maintaining fridges and stores to the highest hygiene and stock rotation standards
- Communicating with kitchen and lodge front of house staff to ensure smooth running of the department
- Correct use and maintenance of kitchen equipment
- Ordering necessary ingredients to enable the section to produce the required items
