Draughtsman

Ingrain is Africa’s largest producer of unmodified and modified starch, glucose and related products. We produce a wide range of high quality products for customers across Africa and around the world using maize as raw material. The products manufactured at our mills are essential ingredients in the manufacturing processes of various different companies, in many industries such as food and beverages, paper manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, building materials and adhesives.

We are currently seeking a skilled Draughtsman to join our team. As a Draughtsman, you will be responsible for creating technical drawings and plans for the production and manufacturing of our products. You will work closely with engineers and project managers to ensure that all technical designs are accurate and meet the required industry standards. - Identify drawing register management objectives by reference to the group engineering support priorities and specific goals as agreed to in the operational plans of the department.
- Identify benchmarks for drawings register.
- Select best practice drawing register management methods and procedures.
- Provide support to mills regarding drawing services.
- Maintaining the integrity of the plant and facilities drawing register
- Identify drawing register management objectives by reference to the group engineering support priorities and specific goals as agreed to in the operational plans of the department the department.
- Select best practice drawing register management methods and procedures.
- Provide support to mills regarding drawing services

Execute design drawings on request.
- Plan drawing program and priorities.
- Design and scope designs.
- Organize drawing projects.
- Produce all relevant drawings:
a) P&Id’s

b) GA

c) Isometric

d) Equipment drawings

e) Electrical line drawings

f) Update existing drawings.

Practice systems and procedures
- Implement most current system versions and programs.
- Regularly audit system accuracy, report on any deviations and initiate corrective actions.
- Upgrade personal skill level in design and drawing skills, problem solving and creativity techniques.
- Ensure that drawing office equipment is functioning properly and adds value to designs.
- Maintenance of drawing standards.

Capital process projects
- Initiate and set out equipment on site, taking into consideration accessibility.
- Assist with project activities:
a) Equipment installation

b) Overseeing/ supervising contractors

c) Liaison with contractors suppliers
- Identify benchmarks for drawings register.

**Requirements**:
**Qualifications**
- Grade 12 or Equivalent
- National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
- M.D.D.O.P Certification

**Knowledge**
- Technical Drawings
- SHE
- Engineering
- Wetmill

**Experience**
- Min 3 years (available immediately advantageous)
- CAD Design
